hello hello!
well, august has just about run it’s course. in a few days you’ll get my monthly newsletter which will get you excited for September! (maybe you already are, idk)
this is a new segment I’ve decided to add on a whim! so we’ll see how it goes, if I keep it up, etc. let me know if you like this!
below I will be recapping products, restaurants, and just anything that I really enjoyed in august. things I bought that I would buy again. *insert “capitalism really popped of today” meme*
1. Peel & Stick Wallpaper
okay, if you saw me complaining on my IG story about how annoying wallpaper is to put up, let me explain lol. when we started putting it up, we did not have a ladder, and our ceilings are rather high. the next day I did get a ladder and I did manage to put the rest of it up all on my own. SO it’s not that hard if you have a ladder. we got this cool blue toile pattern from urban outfitters, and I think it’s great for an accent wall, to add some color and pattern, but still remain somewhat neutral.
2. Artificial tulips
I LOVE the look of nice flowers in a vase as a type of decor. love love love it. however, I am not great at keeping flowers alive, they’re expensive, and tbh I forget to take them out before they die. So I scoured the internet for some realistic looking fake flowers that weren’t 8 million dollars. Came across these tulips on Amazon and they looks SO real for only $19!!!!!!!
3. this pink SET Active set
I was skeptical of this brand for a while because I only ever saw very very thin women wearing it, so I wasn’t sure how I’d like it. I’m not usually a big fan of biker shorts and it’s too hot for leggings. I decided to try it out and when using it for yoga or pilates or even just lounging, it’s great! I wouldn’t personally wear this running, but I think its great quality and would purchase more!
4. “mom, I am a rich man” pillow
my preferred home decor style includes many colors and bit of ~ chaos ~ so this fun needlepoint pillow has been sitting in my cart for a while! So far, I love it. It’s a Cher quote, it’s fun, and the website has lots of other quotes too. the runner up pillow said “this is why we cant have nice things,” but I liked this one better
5. the new MISIPASTA in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

if you’re tuned into the pasta scene in NYC, you know who Missy Robbins is. she runs the super popular restaurants, Misi and another one called Lillia. MISIPASTA is her newest spot, it’s part cafe/restaurant and part grocery. the very limited menu was deeeeelicious, and I am planning to go back very soon to buy some of their homemade pasta in bulk, along with their green garlic butter they use in their restaurants. If you’re in nyc, bookmark this place for a nice lunch or casual dinner. the outdoor area is beautiful for when it cools down a bit too.
6. this cute af pink cup
Not too much to say about this cup other than I am obsessed with it! it’s a little pricey but it’s from Etsy, which means its made by a small business, and its made from hand blown glass (I believe).
7. funky wine subscription service
I’m usually not the biggest fan of wine subscription boxes, but this one is really cool. Lately i’ve been very into “quirky” wines, aka wines that you probably wouldn’t find at like a classy high end French restaurant, but you would find at a funky wine bar or tapas restaurant in Bushwick. All of the wines on this site are organic and natural wines, there are so many cool wines to look through. I do the subscription that gets me 2 bottles a month. I forgot to pick mine for this month, so they picked for me! Highly recommend!
8. AGOLDE Parker long shorts

I am a thick thighed girly with a smaller waist than hips, which means that finding a good pair is HARD. Apparently every denim shorts manufacturer thinks that women are just straight lines from head to toe. Anyways, I’ve heard people rave about the Agolde Parker long shorts, I bought a pair, and I did not like them. They were way too big, and they had a raw hem that kept tearing due to aforementioned thighs. HOWEVER, I realized there are multiple styles of the Parker long shorts, so I tried another paid that were cuffed at the bottom and a size down, and I am very into them! They’re a bit more expensive, and they do stretch a bit so maybe size down or wear with a belt.
9. LMNT electrolyte powder
It’s summer, I’ve been running, and when i’m done running there is literal SALT on my face from how much I’m sweating. I loooove these electrolyte powders, they’re very salty, which takes some getting used to but now I am obsessed. My favorite flavor is citrus salt (drink it with a tall glass of icy water and it almost feels like a margarita), but the other flavors are great too. Also, lots of people use these even when not working out super hard, its just a good way to increase hydration!
10. Folex upholstery cleaner
Alex and I have a white couch. We also have 2 golden retrievers and a cat. this was not a wise idea on our part. But, I found this cleaner on amazon and it works very well for getting spots off of white couches or carpets or whatever. Life saver!
