welcome back to the monthly installment of the kitchen table newsletter!!
& happy new year! I hope you’re all off to a vibrant start to the year. having Jan 1 on a Wednesday did throw me off a bit, but we are in full swing now.
I don’t love setting concrete goals because I tend to be overly ambitious when setting them…leading to disappointment later. instead, I just want to focus on overarching themes. For me, I want to focus on “more” in 2025. eating more vegetables. filming more recipes. making more money, etc etc etc. it feels much more doable to focus on doing more rather than doing less of something!

life updates:

december was a bit of a whirlwind. firstly, I finished my masters degree!!! icymi, I now have a masters in Food Studies from NYU. The 4th photo is from my final presentation. it’s gotten very cold in NYC and we’ve now had 3 snow days already! I did lots of cooking as well with 4 substack recipes and christmas dinner prime rib. Then, Alex and I went to Kure Beach, NC to celebrate the new year!
what I’m cooking:
this year I really want to churn out content like I used to, so expect a lot more recipes among other content!
I’m planning to start a “stew season” series to carry us through the rest of winter with some comforting stews and soups. plus, I intend to continue my seafood counter series. The next seafood I think I’ll use is oysters or whole octopus!
2 things im obsessed with right now:

Sweatpant Jeans: Yes, actually. Basically the 2025 equivalent of a “jegging.” I got these Rag & Bone jeans for christmas and I think I have worn them almost everyday since! I cant take them off, theyre too comfortable!!!
Retainer/mouthguard cleaner: I got this for christmas after seeing 8 million ads for it, and it works so well. I was shocked. I wear a mouthguard at night to prevent grinding my teeth and no matter how much I clean it, it just felt icky. this thing has made it feel almost new after a few uses!
that’s all for today, see you later with more fooooood.
