one for the money, two for the show

Hi! it’s been a minute! wow, what a month. it is officially November, which means it is finally folklore and evermore season. so, cheers to that. ‘tis the damn season.
okay, enough Taylor swift references, let’s get into it. first of all, I owe you. I owe you two recipes that I neglected to complete in October, but I PROMISE you will get them this month! I’ll be sending out 4 recipes in November, 2 for everyone, and 2 that are exclusive to paid subscribers.
state of the union: november
it’s fall, and it finally feels like it. it’s also the month of thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays! that being said, dry turkey is out. duck is in. deviled eggs are always in, and so are thickkkk soups, but also broth & noodle-y soups, chilled red wine, cacio e pepe, and earl grey tea. cold food is out (duh, it’s cold outside), judging portion sizes at a table – OUT. rain is out, because i’m tired of it, and so is netflix. oh, and half-baked harvest is…out.
life updates:
I am officially at the point of the year where I may have bitten off more than I can chew. there’s… a lot going on, BUT I love it all! Alex and I went to London in October where we ate lots of food, attended an English Football (soccer) game, and more!
I also ran the Staten Island Half Marathon in early October, which was great! I felt amazing until mile 10, then that last 5k got very hard. But I survived, then had a ton of sushi for dinner. I have one volunteer event and one final race I have to complete, and then I can qualify for the 2024 NYC Marathon!

also, I hit 100,000 followers on instagram! it sounds vain, but this was huge for me. at the beginning of 2023, I wrote down 10,000 followers as a goal, and I’ve overachieved that tenfold. not saying this to brag, but rather to encourage you to aim higher than you expect, and be consistent in whatever it is! next up: traveling to Australia this month!
